We promised in our recent blog that there was more exciting stuff heading your way. Well, we’re delivering on that promise by launching our very own Learn to Lift course in April.
Ideal for those just starting their fitness journey or those wanting to brush up on their technique, the Learn to Lift course will teach you the fundamentals of how to train in the gym.
What does the Learn to Lift course include?
Covering the essential movement patterns which make for a healthy and functioning body, the course will be taught over 8 sessions. You’ll learn to lift within the following exercise categories:
- Lower body push movements – e.g. leg press, leg extension, squat, lunge variations and hip thrust variations
- Upper body push movements – e.g. bench press, chest press, overhead press with dumbbells and barbells)
- Lower body pull movements – e.g. hamstring curl, deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts and hex-bar deadlifts
- Upper body pull movements – e.g. bent over row, landmine row, seated cable row, lat pull down and pull ups
As well as learning about the above movements, you’ll also:
- Learn how to structure a gym session
- Learn how to warm up effectively for each of the muscle groups
- Receive a 4 week programme template
- Learn how to progress from week to week
Is the course suitable for me?
Based upon your experience, we’ll pick suitable exercises for you to learn and ensure that you progress safely and efficiently. The main focus of this course is to LEARN, so it’ll be heavily biased towards technical abilities before progression in weight.
So, if you’ve been to the gym previously and just want to brush up on your knowledge and technique, or you’re looking to start your fitness journey, then this course is right for you. This class isn’t suitable for experienced, educated lifters.
When do courses run and how much is it?
The Learn to Lift course runs over a 4 week period and will be limited to 6 people per class to ensure our trainers can provide the support needed. Sessions will be held Tuesday evening 8pm-9pm and Thursday evening 6pm-7pm, starting in April.
The cost for the 8 sessions will be £150 per person, which equates to £18.50 per session. For the level of coaching and detail provided in these sessions, you really don’t want to miss out.
